 After a Meal
« Thread Started on Jun 15, 2007, 10:54am »

Ajia was half lying lazily on a dusty elephant scull and trying with one of her claws to take something from between her teeth. She'd just been hunting and had had an abundant mean, but with the relaxing feeling of satiety came the bugging intrusion of nerves and bone splitters between her fangs. Groaning an other time desperately she let herself fall tiredly on the elephants head, little dust clouds formind around her. But her paw was still half in her mouth as she'd not given up. Let the others live with filth in their mouths, I will not have that! she thought and with an elegant twist of her paw made the little nerve fling out of her snout.
She sighted and rolled on her back, already adding a jump in the near lake on the schedule as she did so, her fur needed the best of care and inches of bone powder and dirt from an elephants scull definitely had no chance to remain in her fur for long. She felt lucky, her worst problem was dirt and indigestion, from which she also seemed to suffer at the moment as her stomach gave a quite noisy comment in reply to her new position, and she didn't want to complain, not at all, it would have been stupid of her to not appreciate such a luxury when others had much worse to bear. She still yearned for adventure though, or at least something to spice her boring life up a bit, just enough to keep her from painstakingly clean her teeth in search for adventure, that occupation made her feel quite pathetic.
She looked up at the sun just in time to see it's last amused smirk as it gave its place to what looked to Ajia like quite full rain clouds, although she didn't exclude a few thunders would spice the wetness-to-come up a bit. Her ears twitched a few times as the sound of steps approached but the tension didn't last long as they relaxed again once classifying the noise as that of a fellow dog. She stretched her front legs and yawned, ready to turn back on her stomach and reply to a possible greeting, but didn't keep her hopes too high as her position in the pack was not one requiring that kind of attention and respect. She didn't intend to change her position if not called, the imminent digestion was making her quite lazy.

(Yeah so I don't know if painted dogs really howl, but w/e)

A tan creature with no black spots and many scars is sniffing the ground for safety. He is unsure of the path ahead of him and the new scent he has fallen upon. Stopping as the smell is stronger he looks ahead to see nothing but the frame of a once magnificent body. He emits a howl for his sister, the youth of his life. She has many disturbances about her, but he loves her and will never let her go.

The sky has an eerie taste in these lands. The smell is so foreign to him and he is constantly alert. The bones of creatures are never unlike this, not even after a meal. It disturbs many to chew on something stolen, that they too posses. the very though of something larger and more fierce is what keeps Baya awake at night. If his disgraceful fur would permit a screen, you would see the bags of skin beneath his unhealthy eyes. Full of color still, and yet in the corners incredibly dark with blood vessels popping. It looks as though he would cry tears. A skinny silhouette appears, walking the high hills of this valley. Beautiful to him, unkempt and horrifying to others. The path is safe.

She sighs what she can spare as the howl sound from her brute. A silly thing to do she thinks. Sabir could fight just as well as he. Though in truth she hadn't eaten enough lately and Baya was on the fritz about it. She just, wasn't hungry. The sun behind her and the new world in front. 'It is going to be a fresh start.' Said Baya. She knew just as well as he that the reason they left was because of that traitorous son of a man who stole Baya's rightful place as alpha. He was too gentle to fight back then. Never would he kill one of the pack. Sabir smiles to him, her head held high for a moment. She gladly meets with him and they travel further into this unknown world.

Their footsteps are in chime. With no one around to bother her, she steps as lively as her big-hearted brother. Her smile lasts longer than usual. It is a strange feeling to have something so new right in front of her velvet lips. Baya licks her forehead lovingly and she pushes her nose into his wonderful chest. The smell is so renewing. Suddenly Baya stops. Sabir takes her nose from his fur and looks ahead. Her large ears panel to hear what he hears. They both stand as tall as the other. Almost like twins, except for Baya's missing spots. He calls out, Who's there? Sabir, still confused, catches the fresh scent of blood. Her stomach growls and Baya's attention is deferred from the threat to her. She nods him away and he goes on ahead.

(sry, I was quite busy)

Ajia heard a cry of a male dog. It looked like she'd have to stand up. She'd rather just have rolled around so to simply be able to see the dog but she didn't recognize the other's smell and so thought it would be more wise to show some respect as the status of the oncoming dog was unclear.
She shook her head a bit to free herself from the sleepy dizziness she'd been trapped in and turned on the stomach, feeling with repulsion other dust clinging to her fur, she really had an issue with that, sat up slowly and then proceeded standing and looking around to see where the male was coming from. She saw him in the distance, walking calmly but she could smell his tension, he probably feared she meant to harm or attack him.
Trying to disguise the effort it took her to not simply let herself fall on the ground again she climbed down from the skull and slowly walked towards the male, stopping at a respectful distance.
I'm Ajia she said and bowed slightly I mean no harm

Sabir is bored and lies down to listen in. Baya will not call for her until he is finished with the stranger. it usually takes him a long time to finish judging whether the dogs are ok or not. Her fur is matted so tight, that when she lies down it pulls on her flesh. She looks to the sky and watches imaginary clouds pass.

Baya holds his head high as the femme places hers in a vulnerable position. It is tempting to hurt her while he can, but he does not take up the chance. We mean no harm either. I only wish to pass with my sister. I am Baya. He does not give the femme Sabir's name. He does not know this vile creature like his sister. Who knew if she were to attack him just as easily as he could attack her? He felt completely paranoid, and yet did nothing to stop it. It was true that she could attack him, and who was he to be careless? He spotted the fresh catch to the left. It was still red and juicy. Baya remembers that Sabir is hungry. She doesn't eat well, but perhaps her appetite has finally come back to her. He eyed the red meat lovingly. The bones had no flesh to them anyway. Eyes flashed back to the femme before him. Have you finished that? His voice was low by nature and he used it often to intimidate what he could.

Ajia smiled, as far as a wild dog's snout could contort into a smile, and nodded, muttering
Sure you can pass loud enough for the other dog to hear as he was talking.
She then lowered her head in sign of respect as the other dog gave its name to her. Baya seemed quite friendly, although nothing in this world was for sure, and Ajia saw no threat in him as, following her logic, it would have been completely useless to show hostility with no reason.
She the looks Baya was giving to the catch and made no attempt to try to protect it or assert her possession of the precious meat, she'd eaten more than enough and couldn't have taken a bite more. She lifted her eyes of the carcass as the male spoke to her again inquiring about the meat.
It's not finished as you can see but I won't eat of it anymore. If you want you can have it
before waiting for a reply she jumped back on the elephant skull and took the remains of the dead animal between her fangs, re-descending with a catlike jump from the dead mammal's head again and placing the meat on a large rock to avoid it getting too dirty.
She lifted her head and looked at him. Who's your friend and what pack are you two from? she asked curiously and trying to sound kind rather than invasive, jumping back on her elephant skull and laying down as she said these words.
